Christian B
The VIP of the week is Christian B. Christian likes the colors, purple, black, and pink, football, and McDonalds. He enjoys October, Wednesdays, and sunflowers. His friends are Lenny, Mohammed, Raymond, Jacob, and Joey. Have a great week Christian!
This week in math we are finishing data collection. We learned how to make tables to sort information and how to answer questions about the data when it's in charts and tables. Now we are starting on graphing. We'll learn how to read a graph, whether it's horizontal or vertical, and how to make a graph. Next week we'll have a delicious graphing assignment.
In reading we do not have a new story. We are taking the second Language Arts Benchmark Exam. This exam will test what we have learned in reading and writing so far this year. It also tests us on skills we haven't learned.
In writing we began a new style called personal narrative. In personal narratives, you don't describe on things, instead you describe a sequence of events. We are writing about a time we played a sport. We've enjoyed hearing other kids reading their paragraphs to us. We find them very interesting.
In grammar we started learning about homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same, are spelled differently, and have different meanings. Such are to, too, two and I, eye. We are making a classbook about many different kinds of homophones.
In American History, we are going to learn all about how a law is made. It will be a lot of fun seeing what law the kids come up with!
